A financial advisor from my church is one of my friends on Facebook and he was talking about taking a trip to the grocery store using a list from The Grocery Freak‘s website. The name intrigued me, so I decided to check it out. Turns out this guy Paul Moyer is dedicated to helping you save money on your groceries – $1,000 per year in fact. Joseph Sangl, the guy from my church, reported back that he scored $35 worth of groceries for just over 11 bucks yesterday. Not a bad day at the grocery store.
I’ve been trying to save money by using coupons and many of the grocery stores I go to, Ingles and Bi-Lo, have savings cards that you can swipe when you check out for extra savings. I just love walking out of the store knowing I saved some money. Maybe I should step it up even more and pay attention to these websites.
At the top of The Grocery Freak’s web page you can click on stores, such as Bi-Lo, Kroger, Rite-Aid, CVS and Publix to see savings for the week. Each has a list with the item and how much you can save. Looks like this week at Bi-Lo and other stores they have several BOGO specials. He also provides you with the rules and details about each store’s coupon policy and tips.
Looking for free samples? Grocery Freak has a link to Shop 4 Freebies which lists different categories, such as baby/kids, health, food, beauty, pets and drinks to name a few. Click on those and you’re on your way to finding free stuff. Want some quick print coupons, look on the right hand side of the page and check them out. According to the site, in the future it will offer some money saving workshops.
Going to the grocery store is not one of my favorite errands that has to be done, but if I’m saving lots of money I probably won’t complain too much.
