We’ve all heard enough bad news lately– so how about some good news? This story will remind you that our God is powerful and good! Over four weekly services in February a church collected $19 million dollars! Pretty, incredible, isn’t it? Before you start to compare this church to your own church consider this– New Creation Church has 22,000 members. If you break that amount over each of those in attendance that is more than $860 per person.
And here’s the most amazing part about the story: it’s a church in Singapore.
There is good news when it comes to giving here in American Christian churches, too. According to a new LifeWay Research survey, 62 percent of churches have received more requests from people outside of their churches for assistance this year than in previous years. In response, 37 percent of churches have increased their giving to ministries that help the needy, and 31 percent are considering launching or expanding their in-house ministries that serve the less fortunate. And since it takes money to do all of that, 71 percent of the churches say they are meeting or exceeding their budget. That means that church members are giving at equal or higher rates than in the past.
