Be A Part of The Great Recovery
Dave Ramsey is spearheading a movement called The Great Recovery. It’s a grassroots movement for people who are tired of waiting on Washington for solutions and answers. According to TheGreatRecovery.com, the government can’t fix this economy– only individual families can by returning to God and grandma’s way of handling money.
Ramsey, along with several other prominent Christian leaders, will kick of The Great Recovery movement with a free event tonight, July 21, 2011. You can register for free at TheGreatRecovery.com simply by entering your name and email address. You’ll then have access to the live webcast presented by Dave Ramsey from 7-8pm.
In addition to signing up for this free live event, you can also read articles by Christian leaders on biblical stewardship. Chris Goulard, Pastor of Stewardship at Saddleback Church, believes there is a movement going on in the church toward true, biblical stewardship, something that has been missing for years. “Many have mischaracterized it and used it interchangeably with giving or—even worse—the annual stewardship message from the pastor who’s just talked about tithing,” Chris said in the article. “I would love to see the word reclaimed.”
Wondering what stewardship is? According to Goulard it’s the understanding that we are only managers of our things, not the owner. He
says it boils down to three points:
1. God owns it all.
2. We are all stewards.
3. We have a responsibility to manage it for His glory.
