Cyber Monday proved to be a record day for shoppers searching for coupons, according to an article at USAToday.com. Sites like RetailMeNot.com reported having 1.1 million visitors on Monday. That’s up a whopping 57% from a year ago. Another coupon site, CouponCabin.com had 400,000 visits which was a 65% increase from Cyber Monday 2008. BradsDeals.com welcomed 16,000 visitors per hour, a 174% increase in traffic compared to last year.
There has been an increased demand for printable coupons and coupon codes all year. This summer 44.1 million adults printed coupons from online sources which is a 21% increase compared to 2008, according to market research firm Experian Simmons. The reason for this growth is easily explained– more people want to save money and more people are getting online. Statistics show that one-third of internet users are visiting websites that offer deals.
