Our family is working hard to build of a savings account and to also have more money to travel and do other things that we prefer. We have already cut back on the eating out, but there are other small changes that can add up.

Easy Tips to Save

    1. Skip the air fresheners. Those few extra dollars each month could be put into a savings account. Opt for opening the windows and turning on the ceiling fans to circulate the air. Natural air is better than the top “natural” air freshener. Savings could add up to $10 or more each month.

    2. Make the switch from bottled water to filtered water. Not only will you help save the environment but you will be able to save around $30 (depending on how much you drink) each month.

    3. Package snacks yourself. Buying small plastic containers and bulk sizes of snake foods could easily save you $40 per month (especially during ball seasons).

    4. Upgrade the dog or cat food. It may seem like spending more could never save, but in this case it will. Buying food for your pet that is mostly meat and meat products instead of fillers will allow them to eat less and be healthier. Savings could start around $10 per month.

    5. Pass on the disposable products – even for outdoor meals. Invest in easy to wash plastic alternatives, kitchen towels and even table linens. Reducing the disposable paper products that you use could easily save you around $10 each month.

Just a few simple changes could save you $100 each month or more. That’s a great start to the financial changes that you are working to make.
