My next door neighbor put their home on the market on Monday. They had three showings in two days that resulted in two offers! The ended up accepting an offer that was $7,000 over their asking price. It just goes to show that people are still buying houses and they’re willing to pay full price, despite what you may hear on the news. If you’re looking for a home, there are a few new resources you may want to consider.
Google has beefed up their real estate listing search feature. This free site will help you find houses currently on the market. Search by city, suburb or neighborhood. You can even search nearby for schools, restaurants and public transportation. Change to the Street View option to explore the neighborhood without even having to step foot in it. Plus you can find directions between the property and your favorite places like coffee shops, parks and restaurants.
Another website to check out is Trulia.com. It’s a great resource for searching available real estate. It includes advanced search features like limiting your results to properties that have been reduced. You can even find foreclosures or bank owned homes. And if it’s taking you longer than expected to find your dream home, you can use the site to search for properties that are available for rent, too.
