Twitter Tuesday Profile: @hiclassloincome

Many of us find it hard to talk about money to those we’re closest with. That embarrassment is what drove our next Twitter Tuesday Profile to start a personal finance blog and begin tweeting about her finances. The 26-year-old therapist and fitness instructor lives in the San Fransisco Bay Are of California and when she’s not working she’s blogging or tweeting as @hiclassloincome.

OODC: How did you get started blogging and tweeting?
@hiclassloincome: I got started blogging in 2007 when I had finished college. I needed an outlet to talk about my debt and money situation as I am too embarrassed to talk to my family or friends about it. Tweeting was just the next to follow in late 2009 and has given me a chance to communicate on a more frequent basis with a lot of my fellow PF bloggers and get to know them on a more personal level.

OODC: You seem very goal-oriented on your blog. Why are goals so important to you?
@hiclassloincome:Goals are important to me because they keep my mind focused (for the most part) on what I’d like to achieve in my life. I’ve learned over the course of my blog that setting reasonable goals is important. Shooting too high can backfire (and has backfired) on me. I like to set smaller goals that help me progress while also allowing me to enjoy my life.

OODC: What’s the biggest money mistake you’ve ever made?
@hiclassloincome:Obviously my biggest mistake was and has been using credit as a means to supply a lifestyle that was out of my reach financially. A second mistake I have would be not saving more earlier on when I had less debt.

OODC: Who are some of your favorite money tweeters?
@hiclassloincome:Wow, I have so many! To name a few, @BudgetsAreSexy, @brokeinthecity, @moneyfunk, @RevancheGS, @serendipity85, @moneymaus, @krystalatwork, @CarrieCheap.

Thanks again to @hiclassloincome for being part of this week’s Twitter Tuesday Profile. Want to be considered for an upcoming profile? Just tweet me!
