Twitter Tuesday Profile: @MillionaireActs

Today’s Twitter Tuesday Profile highlights Philippines based blogger and tweeter Tyrone Solee. He’s a Competitive Intelligence Analyst for a business process outsourcing firm. In the past he worked as a research analyst for Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings. He earned a mathematics degree from Ateneo de Manila University and now you can soak up his financial wisdom through his blog, MillionaireActs.com and his tweets @MillionaireActs.

OODC: How did you get started blogging and tweeting?
@MillionaireActs: I started blogging last year April 2008 but it was not a serious one. I became serious when I started this blog, Millionaire Acts, last November 2008 using Wordpress and having my own hosting account. It all started when I read the famous book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. With that book, I was inspired to leave the rat race in my 40s and I still have at least 14 years ahead of me to do and prepare for that.

The very idea of this blog is to track down my goals of increasing my networth. The domain name “Millionaire Acts” was a product of the famous “Law of Attraction” from the movie “The Secret”.

In this law, when you want to achieve a goal in life, it says that we should think about it over and over again. With the right attitude, determination, and action, the whole universe would present us various opportunities to achieve these goals. Since I want to become a millionaire someday, I advanced myself thinking that I already achieved it hence the title “Millionaire Acts” reflecting how a millionaire acts.

OODC: You are based in the Philippines. How much interest is there in personal finance where you live?
@MillionaireActs: Our country, Philippines, is a third world country. With this, personal finance is attracting a lot of interests especially nowadays that we are facing a global recession. There are also some personal educators here. Some made a book and some teach investing resembling the teachings of the famous Robert Kiyosaki.

OODC: Do you gear your blog towards readers in the Philippines? Or all over the world?
@MillionaireActs: My blog focuses on four main topics to achieve financial goals – entrepreneurship, investments, personal finance and self-motivation. Basically, my blog is for anyone who wants to achieve financial freedom.

OODC: You write a lot about financial success stories. Why is that?
@MillionaireActs: I am more concentrated on the success stories of rags to riches people in order to inspire my readers. These people were born in a depressed situation but with their hard work and dedication, they were able to achieve what they have now. I simply want to say that if they can do it, definitely, we can do it too. In addition to that, by featuring these success stories, we can also learn from it like how did they do it, what are the challenges that they faced, etc.

OODC: What do you hope people get out of your Tweets and blog posts?
@MillionaireActs: To inspire other people to achieve their dreams and goals in life. If I can, I want to be something like a motivational speaker such as Tony Robbins in the future. It’s very fulfilling to be able to help to people.

OODC: Who are some of your favorite money tweeters?
@MillionaireActs: Trent of the Simple Dollar.
